Lullaby

4 days old

4 days old

This popped into my head very spontaneously as I held Anabel last night.

I love this little baby yes I do

I love this little baby through and through

I love this little baby all day long

That is why I’m singing this song

repeat, repeat, repeat…

Abbie read somewhere a long time ago that short simple repetitive songs are best for newborns. If I can find the source I will add it. The thought behind it is the infant knows what to expect and can relax and drift off into dream land. A complex song holds the infant’s attention in a manner that inhibits relaxation and sleep.

All four of us gave it a whirl.

I believe the lullaby to be original while the melody I am confident is not. If anyone recognizes the melody let us know its origin. Thanks!

Birth Story added

Abbie and Anabel are both feeling peppy today. In fact Anabel, not quite four days old, had her first giggle today.

So the Birth Story page now has the blow by blow details. I am super proud of Abbie, the boys and little Anabel. Very good team work was on display that night.
